SHADOW HILLS — Los Angeles Police were searching Sunday for a a 29-year-old man and his girlfriend's 2-year-old son, both of whom have not been seen since they left Friday on a daylong outing.
Mark Thomas Muse dropped off the boy's mother, Mercedes Torres, at her job in Pasadena before taking Danny Moreno out for the day. He later called her to tell her that he and the boy were at a market and would be home soon, said Los Angeles Police Lt. Joe Hiltner.
That was the last anyone heard from them, he said.
"At this time what we have is a 29-year-old and a 2-year-old who are missing," Hiltner said. "We don't have any reason to believe there is foul play at this time."
Torres waited at her home in the 9700 block of Sunland Avenue until 5 a.m. Saturday before reporting the pair missing to police, Hiltner said. Muse's parents, who live in Los Angeles, also reported their son missing, he said.
Muse is described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and eyes.
Muse's car is a 1985 two-door gray Honda Accord with the license plate 3JCG673.
The boy has black hair, brown eyes and weighs 26 pounds. He was last seen wearing green pants, a long-sleeve green shirt and white Nike tennis shoes.
Police asked that anyone with information about the pair contact the Foothill Division station at (818) 756-8863.
