Andy Volpp

February 07, 1995

Sunny Hills, Junior

Soccer/Forward

Sunny Hills beat Sonora, 5-0, in a tournament this season, but Volpp said the Lancers knew things would be different in Freeway League play. The first time the teams played in league, the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The rematch Wednesday was scoreless until Volpp scored in the 60th minute. He scored again in the 75th minute to give the Lancers their first league victory over the Raiders in five years. More importantly, it clinched at least a tie for the Lancers' third league title in a row. Volpp also had a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over Troy.
