Two exhibits of note have opened on the East Coast. "American Diner: Then and Now," at the Museum of Our National Heritage in Lexington, Mass., through July 30, re-creates the American lunch counter of the '20s through drawings, photographs, menu boards. At the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, "Majestic in His Wrath: The Life of Frederick Douglass," marking the 100th anniversary of Douglass' death, will be on display through Nov. 19.
