Hughes Gets Satellite Job: Hughes Space & Communications Co., a unit of GM Hughes Electronics Corp., has won a NASA satellite contract valued at $481.6 million. Hughes will build three satellites to help the National Aeronautics and Space Administration communicate with the space shuttle, as well as a planned space station and an unmanned spacecraft in a low Earth orbit. The five-year program for building the space agency's next generation of tracking, data and relay satellites calls for the first delivery to be made in four years.
