McDonnell Douglas Corp. Announces Plan to Build 20 Planes: The St. Louis-based aerospace firm will build MD-90 passenger planes in China, the state-run New China News Agency reported. McDonnell Douglas has signed a contract to make the 150-seat aircraft with the China National Aviation Technology Import and Export Corp., the report said. China's four major aircraft makers will provide parts for the MD-90s, which will be assembled and tested in Shanghai, the New China News Agency said. The report noted that McDonnell Douglas has built 35 other planes in China. It did not give a schedule for production of the new MD-90s.
