Adventure City, a children's ride park that opened last year in the Hobby City complex in Stanton, is offering a promotion in keeping with its goal of educating as well as amusing.
The park is offering free admission after 4 p.m. Saturdays during March--or $2 off on a regular admission for use any time through June 30--to any Orange County elementary or middle school students who sign pledge cards as they enter promising to stay away from drugs, violence and gangs.
The program is being conducted with the Orange County Sheriff's Department "Drug Use Is Life Abuse" program and "Project: No Gangs."
Adventure City opened last August as "the theme park built just for kids." The park is a chancy gambit considering that it is two miles south of Knott's Berry Farm, where the Camp Snoopy kiddie ride area continues to be a hit.
Adventure City, aimed at children younger than 14, offers a small roller coaster, carousel, Ferris wheel, puppet shows and other attractions.
