Storytelling by Grecian Urn

March 16, 1995|Benjamin Epstein

Not to overlook Classical Greece entirely, the Fullerton Museum Center presents a hands-on workshop for children called "It's All Greek to Me" on Saturday. The workshop, which focuses on the narrative art techniques seen on the urns of that period, is one in a series of "Art Adventures in the Ancient World" for children 8 to 12. "We'll look at the figures as they move around the vases and amphorae--the big, graceful urns--and see how we can depict that motion," said coordinator Aimee Kraus. "Then we'll draw our own narrative story.' The Fullerton Museum Center presents "It's All Greek to Me," a workshop for children, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the museum, 301 N. Pomona Ave., Fullerton. $5; members, $4. Does not include museum admission. (714) 738-6545.
