Baseball officials canceled the rest of the Baltimore Orioles' spring training schedule, citing the club's refusal to face replacement players.

Eight Red Sox players went to the minor-league complex after refusing to play regular-season replacement games.

Many players had been delaying their decisions as long as possible so that, if the strike ends, they wouldn't be tainted in the eyes of the players' association.

But Manager Kevin Kennedy and General Manager Dan Duquette demanded a decision by Monday.
