Nibbles and Bits

March 22, 1995

Arts Orange County, a countywide arts council formed last month, has been recommended for another California Arts Council technical assistance grant--roughly $15,000 (the amount will be determined when the CAC's new budget is approved later this year). An advisory panel recommending the grant noted that the new council "has to address . . . board diversity" by bringing aboard more minorities, said Sally Ann Davis, manager of the CAC's state-local partnership program. Minorities constitute 25% of the county's population, Davis said, but only 14% of the council's board. Arts Orange County already had received $25,000 in CAC technical assistance grants.
