COASTAL CLIMATES

Sow for transplanting: heading broccoli, cabbage, celeriac, leaf celery, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, kale, okra, peppers, summer squashes, tomatoes, tomatillos.

Sow in the ground: annual herbs, Asian/mustard greens, asparagus, beets, carrots, chard, Chinese cabbage (non-heading), fava beans, peas, radishes, salad greens, spinach, sunflowers.

Plant: artichokes, broccolis, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, cardoon, Jerusalem artichoke, onion family, perennial herbs, potatoes, rhubarb, salad greens, strawberries.

Harvest: annual and perennial herbs, Asian/mustard greens, beets, broccolis, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, carrots, cauliflower, chard, green onions, leeks, peas/pea shoots, radishes, salad greens, spinach, turnips.

HIGH DESERT

Sow for transplanting: annual herbs, okra, peppers, tomatoes, tomatillos.

Sow in the ground: all of Coastal Climates except annual herbs and salad greens; plus common beans, corn, cucumbers, summer squashes, turnips.

Plant: annual and perennial herbs, artichokes, asparagus, celeriac, leaf celery, cucumbers, eggplants, Jerusalem artichokes, onion family, peppers, potatoes, rhubarb, summer squashes.

Harvest: annual and perennial herbs, beets, cabbage, carrots, celeriac, leaf celery, chard, mustard greens, green onions, pea shoots, radishes, salad greens, spinach.

LOW DESERT

Sow for transplanting: okra, sweet potatoes.

Sow in the ground: annual herbs, Asian/mustard greens, asparagus, common beans, chard, cucumbers, summer squashes, watermelon.

Plant: annual and perennial herbs, artichokes, asparagus, cardoon, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, Jerusalem artichokes, melons, peppers, shallots, summer squashes, tomatoes, watermelon.

Harvest: annual and perennial herbs, Asian/mustard greens, beets, sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celeriac, chard, green onions, radishes, salad greens, spinach.

INTERIOR CLIMATES

(Where fuchsias won't grow)

Sow for transplanting: cardoons, cucumbers, eggplant, melons, okra, squashes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, tomatillos, watermelons.

Sow in the ground: artichokes, Asian/mustard greens, asparagus, basils, common beans, beets, carrots, leaf celery, Chinese cabbage (non-heading), corn, peppers, radishes, salad greens, sunflowers.

Plant: annual and perennial herbs, artichokes, asparagus, celeriac, leaf celery, Jerusalem artichokes, onion family, potatoes, rhubarb, strawberries.

Harvest: annual and perennial herbs, beets, heading broccoli, cabbages, carrots, chard, mustard greens, green onions, radishes, salad greens, spinach, turnips.

(Where fuchsias grow fairly well)

Plant: all of non-fuchsia climates except basils, celeriac, leaf celery, rhubarb; plus heading broccoli, cardoons, salad greens.

Harvest: All of non-fuchsia climates except turnips; plus sprouting broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, peas, pea shoots, salad greens.

MOUNTAINS

(Above 6,000 feet)

Sow for transplanting: asparagus, broccolis, Brussels sprouts, cabbages, cardoon, cauliflower, celeriac, hardy greens, leeks.

Sow in the ground: beets, carrots.

(Below 6,000 feet)

Sow for transplanting: All of high mountains plus onion family, strawberries, summer squashes.

Sow under cover: Hardy greens, peas, radishes, turnips.

Plant under cover: broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, onion family, potatoes.

Harvest: hardy salad greens, perennial herbs, turnips.
