In other nonleague softball:

Canyon 2, El Toro 1 (10)--Kristie Hiatt's two-out single drove in Jenny Crary with the winning run in the 10th inning for host Canyon (4-3). Hiatt, who had two hits, scored the Comanches' first run in the fourth inning. Veronica Lopez allowed four hits and struck out three and retired 18 in a row from third to the ninth inning.

Dana Hills 5, Estancia 3--Jennifer Hass had a double and three RBIs for visiting Dana Hills (7-1), which won its sixth in a row.

Laguna Beach 2, Orange Lutheran 1--Jessica Roche set a school record by striking out 17 for host Laguna Beach. Roche broke Terri Anderson's record of 15, set in 1989. Susanne Herbert drove in Shannon Chaffe with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

In the Garden Grove League:

Garden Grove 3, Bolsa Grande 1--Freshman Erica Hammontree pitched her second one-hitter of the season, striking out eight to lead Garden Grove (6-2, 1-0). Amanda Sanchez and Lorrie Duran each had run-scoring singles for Garden Grove. Bolsa Grande is 3-4, 0-1.
