BURBANK : Cable Programs on Airport to Be Shown

March 24, 1995|STEVE RYFLE

Burbank Airport officials said this week that they will begin broadcasting two new programs about the airport's operations and related issues over local cable television stations this month.

The programs, titled "Plane Facts," are part of the airport's $100,000 campaign this fiscal year to promote business at the airport and better inform the public about plans for a 465,000-square-foot terminal that would be four times larger than the existing structure, officials said.

In the first of two shows, Burbank Airport Authority President Brian Bowman and Randy Berg, the airport's operations director, discuss the general aviation industry and the future of the airport.

In the second show, airport spokesman Victor Gill and other officials discuss the legal definition of aircraft noise and the steps the airport has taken to address noise issues. They also give tips for residents who live under the airport flight path, and for people considering a move near the airport.

The two shows will air in Glendale and Burbank at various times and dates on Sammons Communications channels 6 and 21. It will also be shown in North Hollywood and Studio City on United Artists Cable channels 25 and 28. For information, call (818) 840-8440.
