Community College Athletes of the Week

March 29, 1995

Tom Cerasuolo

Orange Coast, Freshman

Baseball / Pitcher

Cerasuolo, from Tustin High, started his college career at Rancho Santiago but found many pitchers ahead of him. So he left for Orange Coast. Against Cypress March 22, he pitched a three-hitter as Pirates won, 4-0. He struck out four and walked one. He enters this week with a 3-1 record, an earned-run average of 2.75 and 22 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings.

Baseball

Pat Antrim

* Saddleback, sophomore. He had two hits in each of the Gauchos' games last week to increase his hitting streak to 12 games. He made it 13 with a hit Monday.

Jenny Lopez

Cypress, Sophomore

Softball / Utility

Cypress started last week in a three-way tie for first. Thanks in large part to Lopez, from Tustin High, the Chargers now have a one-game lead. She pitched a three-hit shutout, and had three hits, including a triple, as Cypress picked up a 2-0 victory against Fullerton, which dropped a game back. She reached on a error after a bunt and scored a first-inning run as Cypress took over first place with a 2-0 victory over Rancho Santiago Friday.

Swimming

Brandy Wright

* Orange Coast, sophomore. She won the 200-yard individual medley, the 100 individual medley and the 200 freestyle as Orange Coast beat Rancho Santiago and Saddleback.
