Raytheon Offers Buyouts: The Lexington, Mass., company said it made the offer to 2,300 non-union defense workers in an effort to save $600 million by 1999. A spokeswoman said Raytheon Co. hopes the buyouts will contribute to a savings of $135 million this year. Employees 55 and older who have worked at least 10 years at the company were included. Shares of Raytheon, which makes missiles, defense electronics, appliances and small airplanes, rose 62.5 cents to close at $73.875 on the New York Stock Exchange.
