In the South Coast League:

Trabuco Hills 13, San Clemente 4--Brian Costello hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Jake Anderson hit a two-run homer in the third as the Mustangs took an early lead.

Tom Kilby led off the first with a slap single to left and Nick Punto reached on an error, setting the stage for Costello's drive over the left-field fence. Costello scored three runs for Trabuco Hills (4-3-1, 3-1).

Anderson began the game as one of the league's leading hitters at .450 and his third home run of the season gave the Mustangs a 5-1 lead after three innings.

The Mustangs added a seven-run fourth on five hits and two walks to put the game out of reach, 12-1.

Ryan Kelley, who pitched six innings for Trabuco Hills, was hit hard at times. He was fortunate to have a solid defense because four of the five hits he gave up went for extra bases. Sam Adair hit a deep, opposite-field home run off Kelley in the fourth.
