Mrs. Clinton Plans Book on Child, Family Needs

WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton is writing a book about the needs of youngsters and families, the White House said Saturday.

"It Takes a Village and Other Lessons Children Teach Us" will be published this fall by Simon & Schuster, said Neel Lattimore, spokesman for the First Lady. Mrs. Clinton will receive no advance for the book and her royalties will be donated to charity, Lattimore said.

She will be assisted in the project by Barbara Feinman, a writer who teaches journalism at Georgetown University, said Victoria Meyer, Simon & Schuster's publicity director.
