The president of the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute will receive an honorary degree of Doctor of Humanities from his alma mater.
Dr. Sanford Shapero, a Beverly Hills resident and graduate of the University of Dayton, will be presented with the degree at the university's commencement exercises today.
