WASHINGTON — House hearings into the 1993 federal assault on the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Tex., that ended with the deaths of more than 80 cult members will begin July 12, two subcommittee chairmen said Tuesday.
"This will be an exhaustive examination of the Waco tragedy so that at the conclusion of the hearings, the American public will feel they have all the answers," Rep. Bill McCollum (R-Fla.), chairman of the Judiciary subcommittee on crime, said in a statement.
