McDonnell Douglas to Deliver 20 Jets to Chinese Airlines: The St. Louis-based company signed a letter of intent with Chinese officials to sell the planes, valued at about $700 million, to two of the country's airlines. Separately, McDonnell Douglas said Korean Airlines have ordered three MD-80 intermediate-range twin jets valued at $75 million to $90 million, to be delivered by March, 1996. Beginning next year, Douglas Aircraft Co., the firm's commercial jet-building division, will deliver 11 MD-90 twin jets to China Northern Airlines and nine to China Eastern Airlines from its plant in California. McDonnell Douglas Corp. shares closed 12.5 cents higher at $71.625 on the New York Stock Exchange.
