The Terminator

(R) Director James Cameron pits a futuristic cyborg with bad breath against a spunky woman from contemporary Los Angeles in this 1984 hit. Arnold Schwarzenegger, in one of his earliest roles, plays the Terminator, and Linda Hamilton is his frail but resourceful prey. Screens Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Newport Harbor Art Museum, 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach. $4 for general admission, $2 for students and seniors. (714) 759-1122.

Forrest Gump

(PG-13) Tom Hanks stars in this recent Academy Award-winning movie about a mentally deficient Southerner with an amazing knack for turning up in the right place at the right time. Gump, dopey but good-hearted, comes through the Vietnam War and other social upheavals unscathed and ever-grinning in this Robert Zemeckis picture. Screens Friday at 12:45 p.m. at the Cypress Senior Citizen Center, 9031 Grindlay St., Cypress. FREE. (714) 229-6776.
