OPEC Ends Meeting With Output Quota Unchanged: Saber rattling subsided into inactivity as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries left its production quota unchanged in a short midyear meeting that ended in Vienna. OPEC ministers had lined up to accuse producers from outside the cartel of taking most of rising world demand at the expense of OPEC nations' oil production, which has been kept in check by a self-imposed ceiling that has remained unchanged for two years. But a bland closing communique appeared to brush that issue aside as OPEC said it would keep the cap of 24.52 million barrels a day in place for the rest of this year.
