A slate of public events is planned in conjunction with the "L.A. International Biennial Invitational." Here's a partial schedule:
Opening-week receptions will be held on successive evenings at 6-10 o'clock:
Thursday: galleries in Venice and on Main Street, Colorado and Montana avenues and Broadway in Santa Monica.
Friday: galleries at Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica.
Saturday: galleries on La Brea and Melrose avenues and Beverly and Wilshire boulevards in West Hollywood.
Additional receptions are planned at Cirrus, 524 S. Alameda St., next Sunday, 2:30-4:30 p.m.; at West Hollywood and downtown galleries, July 21, 6-10 p.m., and at all Westside and Bergamot Station galleries, July 22, 6-10 p.m.
\o7 Three panel discussions will be held at local museums:
\f7 "Passionate and Personal Collecting," moderated by collector Clyde Beswick, Museum of Contemporary Art, 250 S. Grand Ave., next Sunday, 1-3 p.m.
"Finding Art in the Big World," moderated by Lynn Zelevansky, curator of 20th-Century art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, UCLA/Armand Hammer Museum, 10899 Wilshire Blvd., July 20, 6-8 p.m.
"Dialogues in Art and Technology," Los Angeles County Museum of Art, 5905 Wilshire Blvd., July 28, 6-8:30 p.m.
