* Television: Under political pressure to sever ties with his media empire, former Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi said Thursday he sold parts of his TV holdings to a Saudi prince and publishers from Germany and South Africa. It was not immediately clear if the $1.1-billion deal will be enough to quiet Berlusconi's critics as Italy gears up for parliamentary elections, possibly later this year. As the voice of the center-right in Italy, he has made clear he intends to battle the center-left in the next elections and seek the premier's job again.
