Sow: Asian greens (except in deserts).

Harvest: Assorted beans, cardoons, collards/kale, eggplant, green garlic, herbs, Jerusalem artichokes, New Zealand spinach, shallot greens, summer squash, sweet potatoes. Also corn, cucumbers, peppers, tomatillos/tomatoes (except in low desert), Asian greens, leafy celery, chard, green onions (except in deserts), melons/watermelons (except in low desert and high mountains), okra (except in high mountains), peanuts (except in mountains).

COASTAL CLIMATES

Sow: Asian greens, beets, snap beans, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chard, salad greens, turnips.

Harvest: Broccoli, cabbage, pea shoots, potatoes, salad greens.

LOW DESERT

Sow: Common beans, cauliflower, cucumbers, melons, summer squash.

HIGH DESERT

Sow: Corn, cucumbers.

INTERIOR CLIMATES

(Where fuchsias won't grow)

Sow: Beets, celery.

Plant: Potatoes.

INTERIOR CLIMATES

(Where fuchsias grow fairly well)

Sow: Asian greens, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, all peas, turnips.

HIGH MOUNTAINS

(6,000 feet and above)

Sow: Asian greens, carrots, radishes, salad greens.

Harvest: Broccoli, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, radishes, salad greens.

LOW MOUNTAINS

(Below 6,000 feet)

Sow: All high mountain crops plus snap beans, broccoli, cabbage, chard, peas, spinach.

Harvest: All high mountain crops except broccoli.

KEY

Asian greens: Chinese cabbages, Chinese kale, garland chrysanthemum, komatsuna (mustard spinach), mizuna, pak choi, rosette pak choi.
