August 11, 1995|CHRIS BAKER

Center fielder Todd Hollandsworth, who was sidelined for nearly two months after breaking a bone in his right wrist May 3, was put on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to Tuesday because of a broken right thumb.

Outfielder Chris Gwynn also went on the 15-day list, retroactive to Tuesday, because of tendinitis in his right knee.

Hollandsworth, who was injured sliding into third base in the seventh inning of Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, thought the injury was a sprain, but the fracture was revealed after he had an MRI test Thursday. His thumb was put in a cast and he's expected to be sidelined for at least four to five weeks.

Outfielder Roger Cedeno and infielder Garey Ingram were was recalled from triple-A Albuquerque.
