GUN DROP: Several Westside law enforcement agencies are sponsoring a weapons-disposal day Saturday in a drive aimed at encouraging people to turn in unwanted firearms.

The Beverly Hills and Santa Monica police departments and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in West Hollywood are offering to collect weapons from residents from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the local police stations.

Although it is the first time upscale Beverly Hills has ever had a gun disposal day, police admit they do not expect a flood of weapons.

To encourage his fellow Beverly Hills residents to turn in guns, Ticketmaster Corp. Chief Executive Officer Fred Rosen has offered to provide concert vouchers for each firearm brought in by a resident.

Sorry, West Hollywood and Santa Monica residents. If you don't share the posh Beverly Hills address, the free ticket offer does not extend to you.
