SAN FRANCISCO--"The Secret Garden" is the theme of the 56th annual San Francisco County Fair Flower Show, Aug. 25-27, in the County Fair Building at Golden Gate Park. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. $5, general; $3, people with disabilities and seniors; free for kids 12 and under. CORNING--A full slate of activities awaits at the Corning Olive City Festival, Aug. 24-27. Many events are Saturday in Woodson City Park and Sunday in Northside Park, beginning both days at 9 a.m. A parade is 6 p.m. Friday; a street dance is 9 p.m. Saturday. (916) 824-5550.

SANTA BARBARA--Experience Mother Nature's after-dark sights and sounds at "The Great Garden Nature Night," 6:30-9:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. After a light supper, walk with botanists and educators and search for nocturnal animals. NOVATO--The revelry, culture and spirit of 16th-Century England springs to life at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire at Black Point. The fair is 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays-Sundays (and Monday, Sept. 4), Aug. 26-Oct. 1. $17.50, general; $14.50, college students, military and seniors; $7.50, kids 5-11; free for kids 4 and under.
