Central Los Angeles : DOCTOR FINED

August 31, 1995

A doctor working at a Crenshaw medical clinic was ordered Tuesday to pay $8,100 in fines after he pleaded no contest to paying for the referral of workers' compensation patients. Dr. Ivor Harewood was charged with paying a management referral company for workers' compensation patients requiring medical examinations, said Mike Qualls, a spokesman with the Los Angeles city attorney's office. Harewood was one of four Los Angeles-area doctors caught during a sting conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department and the California Medical Board.
