OXNARD — A Los Angeles youth who suffered multiple stab wounds following a party in Oxnard was listed in stable condition Sunday at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard.

Danny Sanchez, 16, was taken to the hospital after the stabbing late Saturday. A second stabbing victim, Juan Cortez, 22, of Los Angeles, was treated at St. John's and released.

Details were sketchy Sunday, but Oxnard police said they received a call about 11 p.m. reporting a fight and stabbing near Ironbark Drive and Bluebell Street. A caller also reported a stabbing victim in the 1000 block of Azalea Street.

The victims had attended a party in the 1000 block of Azalea. Police said the stabbings were related, but they gave no further details. The Ventura County Sheriff's Department sent a helicopter to the scene to assist Oxnard police.

The suspects were described as 10 or more people. Oxnard Sgt. Gene Thayer said he did not know if the incident was gang-related.

The police investigation is continuing.
