THOUSAND OAKS : Workshop to Train Literacy Tutors

A free workshop for literacy tutors will be held Saturday at the Conejo Valley Adult School in Thousand Oaks.

Sponsored by the Conejo Valley Adult School Literacy Program, the workshop at 1025 Old Farm Road will prepare volunteers to tutor adults in basic literacy skills. Training will start at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m.

After completing the training, each volunteer is asked to commit to a minimum of two hours a week of tutoring an adult student at the school's literacy center.

Volunteers do not need to have a teaching background.
