Chris Czernek threw four touchdown passes for the fifth time this season to lead unbeaten Newbury Park High to a 33-0 victory over Royal in a Marmonte League game Friday night at Newbury Park.

Czernek has passed for 22 touchdowns and 1,989 yards this season after completing 16 of 29 for 288 yards against Royal (2-4, 1-2).

The Panthers (6-0, 3-0) scored on their first possession less than two minutes into the contest when Czernek (16 of 29 for 288 yards) teamed with DeJuan Hawkins from 14 yards on their first of two touchdown plays.

Newbury Park built a 13-0 first-quarter lead when Czernek found Pat Reddick from seven yards. Reddick, who was cleared to play by doctors at game time because of a concussion, caught four passes for 76 yards.

The Panthers went ahead 19-0 at halftime when Czernek hit Hawkins from 25 yards. Hawkins led all receivers with five receptions for 93 yards.

The Panthers held Royal to 75 total yards. Fumble recoveries by Chris Soury and David Tully along with an interception by Cory Bryant led the Panther defense.
