Rose Drive Baptist Church Plans Family Festival

The Students for Christ youth ministry of Rose Drive Baptist Church will sponsor a Fall Harvest Festival from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Games, face painting, a moonwalk, a chili cook-off and a bake sale will be featured. The event, which was intended as a trick or treating alternative for children, has now been expanded to include the whole family. The church is at 4572 Rose Drive, Yorba Linda. Christian music artist Michael Card will be in concert at 7 tonight at Calvary Church. Tickets are $14.50 in advance and $16.50 at the door. The church is at 1010 N. Tustin Ave., Santa Ana. Information: (408) 369-8222.

Illusionist Toby Travis will perform in his show "Illusion and Beyond" at 7 tonight at Trinity United Presbyterian Church. The show will include music, humor, illusions and audience participation. The Rev. Ken Macklin will give his sermon "Far Off Faith" at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Since there is a fifth Sunday this month, the church will celebrate Youth Participation Sunday. Tasks normally performed by adults will be taken on by youths. The Garden Grove Free Will Baptist Church will have its Harvest Fest '95 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. The event, which features carnival games, free candy and the talents of ventriloquist and gospel magician Barney Kinard, is designed to be a safe alternative to trick or treating. The Rev. Charles Dennis will continue his series "Forward Through the Ages" with the sermon "The God Who Moves About" at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church of Garden Grove. Members who have died in the past year will be memorialized as part of All Saints/Reformation Sunday. The church will also have a Halloween party at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
