Travelers who are seeking a solid vacation value may find it with one of Grand Circle Travel's extended-stay educational programs in Spain and Portugal, with optional escorted tours of Morocco.

Seniors Abroad, a home-stay program for those over age 50, has published its 1996 program, which includes visits with families in New Zealand and Australia, Scandinavia and Japan. Participants reside with hosts in homes where they also have all meals family-style. The schedule for 1996 includes:

Jan. 25 to Feb. 27--New Zealand and Australia, North and South Islands in New Zealand, and Victoria, New South Wales or Queensland in Australia. Price: $3,150 per person.

Aug. 15 to Sept. 9--Scandinavia, includes stays in Denmark, Norway and Sweden with transportation between countries. Price: $2,650 per person.

Oct. 1 to 26--Japan, begins with a home stay in the Tokyo area followed by residence in two other parts of Japan. Price: $2,550 per person.
