Biotech, Telecom and Stuff: How will biotechnology and telecommunications change the economic and social environment in the 21st Century? This and other questions will be addressed Tuesday at a gathering of business, political and science leaders at the Hotel Intercontinental in Downtown Los Angeles. The Futurists Conference of Biotechnology/Instrumentation and Telecommunications Development lasts from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., sponsored by the law firm Robbin, Berliner & Carson and accountants Ernst & Young. A biotechnology round-table breakfast will include Lt. Gov. Gray Davis, and a telecommunications luncheon will hear from Julie Meier Wright, secretary of the California Trade and Commerce Agency.
