Jon Pharris

Villa Park, Sophomore

Water Polo/Goalkeeper

Villa Park advanced to its first section water polo final since 1989 by beating Newport Harbor and Long Beach Wilson and Pharris played a big part. Against Newport Harbor, he had six steals and 10 saves and helped keep the Spartans in the game before his older brother, Brian, scored the final two goals in an 8-7 victory. In an 8-6 semifinal victory over Wilson he had 11 saves, including several that were spectacular. "He has been one of our most consistent players all year," Villa Park Coach Jeff Ehrlich said. "For a sophomore to be that poised is rare."
