ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast — President Henri Konan Bedie's ruling Democratic Party won a landslide victory Monday in this West African country's second multi-party general election.
Partial results from Sunday's poll, announced by the Interior Ministry, gave Bedie's party 133 of the 175 seats in the National Assembly of the world's top cocoa producer. Two opposition parties, the Ivorian Popular Front and Rally of the Republicans, took nine seats each.
