SANTA ANA — A 22-year-old woman awoke early Thursday to discover an intruder fatally stabbing her boyfriend in their townhome, police said.
Jade Benning told police she awoke about 3 a.m. and saw her 22-year-old boyfriend, Christopher Hervey, struggling with someone in the dark, Santa Ana Police Lt. Bob Helton said. Benning said when she confronted the attacker, he slashed her right hand and fled through the back door of their home in the 2200 block of North Broadway, Helton said.
