Mexico's Junior Team Blanks Titans in Soccer

FULLERTON — Mexico's junior national team defeated Cal State Fullerton, 3-0, in a men's exhibition soccer match Wednesday at Cal State Fullerton.

Eduardo Lillingston scored two goals for Mexico's 20-and-under team. Joel DeLeon scored on a penalty kick with 4:50 remaining in the first half to give Mexico the lead, 1-0.

Mexico led, 2-0, when Lillingston scored on a header off of a rebound with 10:52 remaining in the second half. Lillingston scored the final goal on a penalty kick with 1:30 remaining.

In the other exhibition game, University of San Diego and UCLA tied, 1-1.

The exhibition series continues Saturday at Cal State Fullerton with the Titans playing San Diego at 1 p.m. and Mexico playing UCLA at 3 p.m.
