PacifiCare Behavioral to Add Education Unit

CYPRESS — A subsidiary of PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. has completed its acquisition of a Milpitas health-care services company, Psychology Systems Inc. Terms of the acquisition by PacifiCare Behavioral Health Inc. of Laguna Hills were not disclosed.

"This acquisition adds approximately 275,000 members to PacifiCare Behavioral Health's business," said Dr. Alan Savitz, president and chief executive officer of the PacifiCare unit.

PacifiCare Behavioral Health will use the Psychology Systems name for a new education division that will target public school and community college districts, according to Robert M. Quellmalz, vice president of sales and marketing.
