A family-style picnic Feb. 25 will focus attention on the importance of neutering household pets.
Sponsored by Orange County Animal Control at Irvine Regional Park, the county's second annual Spay Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will feature demonstrations by the Frisbee Dog Team and the Orange County Police Canine Assn.
Msgr. John Sammon will give a blessing at noon to all animals present. Information on pet care and obedience training, low-cost licensing and vaccinations will be available, and a limited number of certificates for free neutering will be distributed.
Owners who bring proof that their animals are already neutered will receive gifts.
