There were a lot of whiffs and plenty of yawns in the doubleheader played between Thousand Oaks High and Hueneme on Saturday afternoon at Thousand Oaks.
At the end, the Lancers' pitching combination of Jennifer Sharron and Kelly Colbert had allowed no hits, gave up only one walk and struck out 21 as Thousand Oaks (4-0) clobbered the Vikings, 13-0 and 10-0.
Sharron, who has allowed one unearned run this season, worked five perfect innings in the first game, which was called because of the 10-run mercy rule, and extended her streak of perfection to 16 innings. She stretched it to 17 in the next game, but it was snapped in the second inning when she walked a batter.
Sharron had 11 strikeouts in the first game and four in the second, before Colbert replaced her in the third inning.
Colbert continued Hueneme's hitless stretch for three innings before the game was called in the middle of the fifth inning because of the 10-run rule.
