Biomerica Given OK

NEWPORT BEACH — Biomerica Inc., a maker of advanced medical diagnostic products, said Wednesday that it has received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market a test to detect and monitor certain thyroid diseases. The new nonradioactive enzyme immunoassay test detects Triiodothyronine (T3), a key hormone produced by the thyroid gland responsible for, among other functions, regulating the use of calories in basic metabolism.
