From Singapore to Malaysia by Rail

May 19, 1996

The Peninsular Line, Malaysia's last working steam locomotive, is now offering luxury train service from Singapore to mainland Malaysia. The Peninsular offers two-day round-trip journeys between Singapore and historic Malacca on the west coast--a trip that takes the train past green hills, rubber estates and rice paddies. The cars are British club style.

Cost starts at $245 per person one way for the train only; round-trip packages, including overnight accommodations, start at $460. Reservations: (800) 937-4418.
