Exhibit to Feature Landscape Painters

"In the Light of Italy: Corot and Early Open-Air Painting"--the first major exhibit to explore the work of European artists who broke new ground in landscape painting between 1780 and 1840--opens today at the National Gallery of Art in Washington. It will feature work by 48 artists, most notably Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, and including Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg, whose work is pictured left. It runs through Sept. 2. Tel. (202) 737-4215.
