Workshop to Focus on Replacement of Palms

The Capistrano Beach Community Assn. is having a public workshop today to discuss the future of the diseased Canary Island palm trees, as well as a possible street redesign in the neighborhood.

About 60 palm trees in the Capistrano Beach area have been diagnosed with fusarium wilt fungus, an incurable disease. The workshop is at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 34381 Calle Portola. Information: (714) 587-0397.
