Warrant Recalled for Milli Vanilli Member

June 11, 1996|NICHOLAS RICCARDI

A Hollywood Municipal Court judge on Monday recalled an arrest warrant for Robert Pilatus, former member of the disgraced pop duo Milli Vanilli, after Pilatus' attorney said his client had left a North Hollywood rehabilitation center only to check into another, authorities said.

On Wednesday, Pilatus, 31, walked out the back door of Cri-Help, where he had been staying after pleading no contest to charges stemming from three assaults last winter, authorities said. Municipal Judge Michael Mink issued an arrest warrant the following day.

But at a hearing Monday, Pilatus' attorney told Mink that his client had moved immediately to another rehabilitation clinic, the L.A. Transition Center near downtown Los Angeles, said Mike Qualls, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney.

Mink rescinded the arrest warrant and scheduled a probation violation hearing for June 24, Qualls said.

Pilatus and former partner Fabrice Morvan were stripped of their 1990 Grammy in the wake of their confession that they never sang a note of their hit album, "Girl You Know It's True."
