doconono n. Post-World War II building remodeled to the point that all original architectural features are obliterated.

fabric n. Physical materials of a building, such as wood, siding, plaster or tile. "The fabric must be there or the history doesn't matter."

facadomy n. Preserving only the front of a historic building.

HPOZ abbr. Historic Preservation Overlay Zone. A district in the city where buildings are related historically and architecturally.

petting zoo n. Cluster of historic buildings removed from their original site as a last resort against demolition.

remuddle n. Remodeled building whose distinctive architectural details have been obscured or destroyed.
