Hungary Retains Chance at Gold

Hungary, a six-time gold medalist seeking its first Olympic title since 1976, cruised to a 12-8 victory over Greece to reach the quarterfinals and keep its hopes alive of regaining the gold.

Defending champion Italy later beat Russia, 11-9, to keep stay in the hunt.

In the classification round, Germany defeated Ukraine, 10-4, and the Netherlands downed Romania, 10-8.
