August 01, 1996|MARK HEISLER

Michael Jordan, who turned down a chance to be on the Dream Team, made a one-day appearance in town--on behalf of the underwear company he endorses--capping it off with a trip with Bulls' teammate Scottie Pippen to see James Brown at the House of Blues.

Brown tried to get the players to come up on stage to join him in singing, "Get On Up." Pippen went but Jordan stayed seated.
