SMALL FACES: New tracks by Salt-N-Pepa, Jodeci members K-Ci and Jo-Jo Hailey and the Lost Boyz are featured on the soundtrack album for "Bullet Proof," a comedy-action film starring Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans. Also on the album, due Sept. 3, are remixes of Delinquent Habits' "Tres Delinquentes" and Black Grape's "The Rev. Black Grape." . . .

PBS will air a documentary about Rickie Lee Jones in October. Directed by noted still photographer Ethan Russell, the show intersperses performance segments with frank looks at the singer's life, including her drug use and the kidnapping of her mother when Jones was a child. Jones also plans to record an album with the young band that she's been debuting on her H.O.R.D.E. tour appearances. . . .

While his former Talking Heads bandmates are working with other singers on their new project, David Byrne has teamed with English trip-hop group Morcheeba on some new tracks for his next album. Meanwhile, Morcheeba's debut is set for U.S. release next month from Discovery Records. . . .

Elastica has finally replaced bass player Annie Holland, who departed during last summer's Lollapalooza tour. The new musician is Sheila Chipperfield, a 20-year-old Londoner with no prior band experience. She got the gig after her twin sister ran into Elastica's Donna Matthews at a Rage Against the Machine concert and touted her sibling's talents. . . .

The Judds, George Jones, Merle Haggard, k.d. lang and Mary Chapin Carpenter are among the country stars with tracks on an album collecting highlights from the PBS "Austin City Limits" live performance program, due in late August or early September in conjunction with a TV special on the show's history.
